Magic Manuscript Maker Typesetting Software

The Magic Manuscript Maker (Link) is a collection of open-source tools and scripts designed to automate Pandoc-based single-source publishing (SSP) workflows for academic journals. The workflow is intended for use in a Docker container and is currently employed by the journal Philosophy and the Mind Sciences (Link). The individual tools are bundled via a web application called Magic Manuscript Maker, which allows the creation of user profiles and projects. However, each tool can also be used independently. The MMM was primarily developed in Python.

Tafsir Web Corpus

Developed as part of Subproject A01 of the CRC 1475 "Metaphors of Religion" (Link), the Tafsir Web Corpus unites one of the most comprehensive curated digital collections of Qur'anic exegesis available today. It includes: (1) 80 Arabic tafsir works digitized by the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute and originally published on Altafsir.com, (2) the Qur'an in TEI-XML (Corpus Coranicum), and (3) Jalal al-Din Rumi's Persian Masnavi, also in TEI-XML (see also the official corpus description). The web application enables users to annotate metadata, download and filter text collections, comment on and discuss texts, and more. The application was developed using Svelte/JavaScript and Go.

Text Reuse Application

The Text Reuse Detection application was also developed as part of Subproject A01 of the CRC 1475 "Metaphors of Religion" (Link). Based on passim, this application helps the project team analyze, visualize, comment on, and annotate text reuse clusters identified by passim. The application is currently used internally and was developed with Svelte/JavaScript.
